Key Achievements

With the Government enabling environment and support from Development Partners such as Institute for Human Virology (IHVN), UNICEF, Population council, Faith Based Action for scaling Up Testing and Treatment for the Epidemic Response ( FASTER} Project. We have made some progress.

Currently, we have:

• 86 HIV/AIDs treatment sites compared to 5 in 2010
• 367 HIV Counseling Testing sites compared to 11 in 2010
• 115 sites for Prevention of Mothers to Child Transmission of HIV compared to 6 in 2010
• Over 49,000 adults on Antiretroviral therapy (A.R.T)
• Available trained manpower for the response
• Increased HIV/AIDS awareness
• Reduced Stigma
• Two PCR machines for EID, Viral load testing including Hepatitis: which serves as a testing hub for neighboring southern states. (Situated at Rivers State Teaching Hospital)
